The Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (DSDE) of the Government of Goa is responsible for overseeing the functioning of the technical training centers in India’s Goa state. The Government of India has established several government-managed Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and privately-managed Industrial Training Centers across the country to provide skill-based training.
Both at the national level and state level, India’s Government has appointed the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) and State Council of Vocational Training, respectively, for conducting the vocational trade courses. However, the SCVT works as per the guidelines of the NCVT.
Every year, a large percentage of India’s youngsters opt for vocational education, as compared to conventional studies, for gaining technical know-how, based on which they can increase their employability and work in the chosen trades. In fact, there have an array of NCVT and SCVT trades that they can choose from.
The students after successfully completing the NCVT or SCVT trade programs are awarded the National Level Trade Certificates (NLTCs) and State Level State Certificates (SLTCs), respectively. The NLTCs make the pupils eligible for the national level jobs; the SLTCs, for the state level jobs.
